Small Change That Changes People’s Lives

A few pennies are all it takes to help other members in Ohop Mutual Light Company’s Service Territory.

Through the Operation Round Up Program, our members can donate, on a voluntary basis, a small amount each month to help meet needs in our community. By Rounding Up your monthly electric bill to the next dollar, each participating member only donates about $6 annually.

The Funds collected are used to help needy members pay their power bills or other emergency requests such as food, shelter, clothing or medical needs.

In Need of Financial Assistance?

Here are the general guidelines of the program:

  • Eligibility is based on total household income at 80% of AMI Income Guidelines for the year of application. Income Verification is based on the month prior to application.
  • Applicants must be an active customer of Ohop for six months immediately prior to applying for assistance and the bill must be in their name.
  • With a few exceptions, members must have a past due balance to qualify for assistance on their energy bills.
  • Additional eligibility may occur as a result of significant life events that cause financial hardship.
  • Customers who apply for assistance with Operation Round Up should also consider utilizing the Federal Energy Assistance Program, if available.
