Clean Energy Implementation Plan (CEIP)

Ohop Mutual Light Company is committed to providing reliable, affordable electricity while supporting Washington State’s transition to a clean energy future. As part of that commitment, we develop a Clean Energy Implementation Plan (CEIP) in accordance with state law.

What is CETA?

The Clean Energy Transformation Act (CETA) is a Washington State law passed in 2019 that guides the transition to a cleaner energy system.

CETA sets the following goals for electric utilities:

  • Eliminate coal-fired electricity serving Washington customers by 2025
  • Achieve greenhouse gas-neutral electricity supply by 2030
  • Provide 100% clean (renewable or non-emitting) electricity by 2045

The law also emphasizes:

  • Maintaining reliable and affordable service
  • Ensuring an equitable distribution of benefits to all customers
  • Increasing public participation in energy planning

What is a CEIP?

The Clean Energy Implementation Plan (CEIP) is a four-year planning document required under CETA.

It outlines how Ohop Mutual Light Company will:

  • Meet state clean energy standards
  • Set interim targets for renewable and non-emitting energy
  • Plan energy efficiency and demand response programs
  • Identify actions to support an equitable transition for all customers
  • Describe how benefits and costs may affect our community

The CEIP is updated every four years and reflects input from our customers and community.
